FRAFS Executive Committee
The FRAFS Executive Committee (EC) is a bilateral committee, which consists of six First Nations delegates from three general geographical areas of the Fraser Watershed (lower, middle and upper Fraser), and two DFO representatives, one from the BC Interior office and one from the Lower Fraser office.
The EC is responsible for overseeing and directing FRAFS operations, and providing strategic guidance in the development of goals and objectives as outlined in the collaborative management agreement. The EC ensures that the secretariat achieves its goals and objectives, and that it is well managed and financially accountable.
EC meetings are held monthly on a regular schedule, and alternate between conference calls and face-to-face meetings. Additional meetings, usually by conference call, may be requested by EC members to deal with urgent topics or issues. Meeting quorum consists of one DFO representatives and four First Nations delegates. Consensus is defined as a minimum of 2/3 of present EC members being in agreement.
